Richard J. Kinsley CEO & Managing Partner

Executive Recruiters, Richard J. Kinsley Before forming Kinsley Sarn Executive Search, Rick was a corporate officer and held senior executive positions with Fortune 500 companies including AlliedSignal, Standard Oil of Ohio and British Oxygen Corporation. Rick has been directly accountable for the global leadership of successful people processes and programs for large, multi-national companies serving global markets. During his career Rick held general management, sales, marketing, business development, operations and quality management positions.

Rick has extensive experience coaching, developing, and recruiting C-suite executives, Board members and other senior leaders. His industry experience includes materials, mining, electronics, capital equipment, life sciences, retail and consumer packaging. He is a sought-after facilitator and public speaker. His effectiveness in optimizing leadership and organizational performance, combined with his broad knowledge of business strategies and best practices, have proven exceptionally valuable to his clients.

Rick earned dual degrees (Economics and Human Resources Management) from Le Moyne College and an MBA from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School. He is certified in executive assessment, and has personally conducted hundreds of executive selection and development assessments in multiple industries. Certified as a facilitator and coach by the prestigious Arbinger Institute; Rick is also a Six Sigma Black Belt and is certified in psychometric evaluation by the Performance Assessment Network®.


Jonathan D. Sarn Partner & President

executive recruiters, Jonathan D. Sarn With over twenty years of progressive Human Resources experience, Jon is a Partner and President and also leads our Executive Recruitment practice. With precision and insight, he serves as a strategic business partner and an honest, knowledgeable search and career consultant. He utilizes a proven recruitment methodology along with an instinctive aptitude to generate effective talent matches. With insightful connections, creative finesse, and an unwavering focus on execution, he delivers consultative service and expert results that create genuine business value with each and every search.  After a placement, Jon remains in close contact with his clients and candidates, keeping track of their progress and staying current on industry developments. Further, the successful longevity of his placements reflects well on the extensive work he does to find the ideal match that has led to a retention rate north of 95%. The sustained investment Jon makes in both client and candidate is a key differentiator.

Jon’s prior corporate experience was last spent with Great Lakes Chemical where he was responsible for Corporate HR and Global Compensation, Benefits and HRIS. In this role he led the effort to identify, assess and develop high potential talent across the corporate functions and led the design and implementation of a global compensation structure. During the merger with Crompton Chemicals, Jon led a team to design and implement the global HR organization, programs and policies for the new organization.  At USF&G, Jon’s last role was as the strategic partner to the Corporate Finance, Legal, Realty Advisors, Falcon Asset Management and F&G Reinsurance businesses. In addition to being responsible for recruiting and staffing all leadership positions, Jon was involved in the design and implementation of a performance management process that incorporated business goals, 360-degree feedback, employee development and succession planning.

Jon received his assessment training while at Great Lakes and has participated in several key executives’ reviews. He has had M&A experience with each of his employers, with particular expertise in staffing and talent assessments designed to support the successful integration.   Jon holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a MS in Behavioral Sciences from Johns Hopkins University. He attended the Advance HR Executive program at the University of Michigan and is a certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt, a DDI trainer and a CCP.


Brad Mitchell Vice President of Business Development

Brad Mitchell leads the Business Development function for Kinsley|Sarn. He has a deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, and a reputation for being a trusted advisor to clients building world-class executive leadership teams. He is widely recognized for his expertise in a broad range of staffing issues from physician and allied health compensation to medical staff planning. Brad has consulted with hundreds of health systems and medical groups regarding physician and allied health needs assessment, population health management, demographic and healthcare trends, compensation, contracts, retention, physician-hospital relations, compliance, and numerous other related issues. He has overseen thousands of retained searches for both clinical and academic roles and has also managed contract staffing.

Possessing over 20 years of professional business development, Brad is a proven client recruitment partner. The relationships he has established with over 600 hospital CEO’s and corporate HR executives is a direct result of his dedication and ability to prioritize their needs while keeping recruiting resources focused on those needs until the contract is fulfilled. Clients appreciate his consultative approach and honest recommendations for structuring successful recruitment initiatives.

Before starting his sales and recruiting career, he spent eight years working with an international environmental engineering and bioremediation firm as a Project Manager. Earlier in his sales recruiting tenure, he worked as an HR recruitment partner with more than 120 Fortune 500 companies.


Paula Lerzak Vice President – Executive Search

Paula Lerzak has served as a marketing consultant, leveraging executive positions in marketing, marcom, and strategic alliances. Her experience at directing cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and technical players, has left her more than prepared to find the perfect management candidate in any of those fields.

Paula began her career at Apple Computer, where, as a product management specialist, she helped introduce the LaserWriter. Then, in her role as National Services Manager at Forsythe Solutions, she managed 40 technical consultants and generated $1.2 million in gross product margin. Paula has also managed marketing communications and business development for several other corporations. Along the way, she has built many successful teams comprising combinations of sales, marketing, and technical players.

A California native, Paula currently works in West Lafayette, Indiana. She holds a BA from UC Santa Barbara.


Mario Mathieson Senior Consultant

executive search consultants, Mario Mathieson Before joining the team, Mario held a wide variety of senior Human Resources leadership roles with Fortune 1000 companies including Hadeed Steel, Great Lakes Chemical and Chemtura Corporation. He has a wealth of senior-level and international Human Resources experience. He has partnered and assisted many Global Business P&L leaders of large Business units with global teams covering commercial, manufacturing, finance and supply chain operations to drive business results under very challenging business conditions and circumstances.

Mario has been accountable for placing senior executives globally and leading talent management programs and business performance improvement projects at business level. He has led regional Human Resources teams in Latin America, EMEA and APAC to deliver world class functional services to multiple business and functional organizations, including the design of country HR policies and procedures covering employee relations, compensation and benefits, talent management and M&A.

Mario has been project leader of major M&A activities, tax optimization principle initiatives, and restructuring programs globally including the design and execution of formal employee relations consultation and communications programs and activities in several global locations. As a respected executive coach to business and functional leaders, Mario has been a trusted member of multiple executive teams, and is known for his “plan it, design it and get it done” ethos.

Culturally highly adept, Mario is bi-lingual (English and Italian) and has lived and worked successfully literally all over the world from Asia/Pacific, to the Middle-East, to Europe, to North and South America. Based in Manchester, England Mario leads our international business providing leadership of retained executive search engagements as well as consulting assignments involving leadership development, talent management, culture shaping and engagement strategies, M & A support, and other human capital challenges.


HEATHER COOKE Executive Recruiter

Heather-Cooke Heather had a broad career within Human Resources that spanned almost ten years designing, implementing and refining the programs and processes focused on attracting, retaining and motivating her customers inside companies like Fairfield Manufacturing and Great Lakes Chemical. She rejoined Rick and Jon at Kinsley|Sarn in 2007 as Executive Recruiter. In this role, she contributes to the overall success of the company by sourcing, assessing, and following through with top talent in the marketplace.

Heather’s specialization includes recruiting senior managers and directors across a broad range of industry sectors and functional areas including Operations, R&D, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain and Human Resources. Her high touch and collaborative approach with candidates makes her an invaluable partner throughout the search process. Her expertise in all aspects of the search process enables her to add significant value and her people skills, tenacity and drive are a true differentiator.

Heather graduated from Indiana University with a BA in Political Science, Public and Environmental Affairs. She resides in West Lafayette, Indiana with her husband and two sons.
